OKTOBERFEST Is Back!

That's right ladies and gentlemen brush off those dusty steins and get a-drinkin'! Oktoberfest isn't just for October - in Torrance it goes from September 12th through October 25th!

Where is this hidden European drunk fest happening, you ask? In Torrance, California, at a wonderful place called Alpine Village.

The Village, as I like to call it, is decked out in old European style - wood, big open beer garden (with shade!), food (prep before hand with antacids or Tums, anything it's buffet-style), and daily events that are appropriate for the entire family. That's not all! There's a little village where there are quaint stores, there's an open air market (flea market), restaurants, a market (that has a guy called the Sausage Master!!!), and a bakery (pastries, cookies, Bavarian goods)! Go and get your schnitzel on!

Oh, and there's even a lil' chapel for anyone who wants to get hitched...just sayin'.
Just a note to anyone 21 and older who are going to drink: GET A DESIGNATED DRIVER AND COME IN GROUPS! The bigger the group, the more friends you can share the experience with, the better and more fun you will have drinking, eating, and chicken dancing.

Meet me there! Or crash at my house cause I live down the street (if I'm friends with you!).

The Sunset Strip Music Festival

If you like hanging in LA bars that have some 60s, 70s, & 80s rock history, overpriced beer and liquor, and mediocre music (with the exception of Ozzy, Fishbone, Talib Kwali, & Wild Child, with a few others) then you'll love The Sunset Strip Music Festival. It's a 3-day event going on from Thursday September 10th through Saturday September 12th, spanning the length of the famous Sunset Strip. The clubs participating are the Cat Club, House of Blues, Key Club, The Roxy Theatre, Viper Room, and Whisky A Go-Go. Basically the Sunset Strip will be closed down, street faire/block party style, where people can hop from venue to venue, street food cart to street food cart, and bar to bar!

The festival is all ages, 21 and up to drink, 18 to smoke ciggarettes...You get the idea.

Just an opinion - I don't think I'm missing out on this because I went to Sunset Junction and that took care of my monthly needed recession red marks in my bank account enough, thank you! And, I don't necessarily care for the lineup on the bill. With exception to the artists I noted before. Don't take it personally.
